Lighting

 

We provide lighting and lighting controls services for the commercial and horticulture industries from concept to finished product, or any point in between.  We design, specify, calculate and install these systems in art galleries, office buildings, warehouses and sports facilities to name a few.   

Last year, we collaborated with local utility companies, submitting $1.6 million in lighting upgrade projects that were eligible for custom rebates.  Rebates are direct cash payments to the customer, averaging roughly 35-50% of the installed costs.  

Most importantly and often overlooked: we are directly reducing greenhouse gas emissions with every project we complete.

    As lighting designers, we must understand the owner’s visions and goals for the space and how it will be utilized. The design process begins with a simple exercise…“Close your eyes, walk me through your space, and tell me what you do and don’t want to see.” Once we understand your visions and goals, we know how to align with them through design and product specifications.

    Finalize a design, specify the products and calculate the outcome. Today’s rendering technology enables us to show owners what their space will look like before finalizing products. We also use calculations to verify that we are providing the right lighting level, at the right brightness, in the right location. Our designs and calculations are in accordance with the “Illuminating Engineering Society’s – The Lighting Handbook” recommendations, the industry standard for lighting references.

    The design and calculation/verification process enables us to be informed installers. In addition to installation, we will coordinate your project with the local electrical utility company for energy efficiency incentives/rebates (if available), and we will commission the lighting system to maximum energy savings via the use of intelligent or advanced controls.

    We just want things to work, too. We offer support services for your lighting or lighting control systems on an “as needed” basis via a contract that suits your needs. A typical support contract may have an agreed upon rate or number of visits annually. Below is a brief overview of the services we offer for lighting:

    • Existing lighting and control system audits - This step is important in establishing baseline existing conditions for project and energy reduction goals.

    • Lighting design in conjunction with the latest recommendations from Illuminating Engineering Society (IES)

    • Product selection

    • Lighting calculation services

    • Rebate coordination with utility company for maximum customer incentives.
